Mutualism
The boxer crab and the anemone
-also known as pom pom crabs
-the boxer crab would grasp the stinging tentacles of the anemones and drive away predators
-in return, the anemone can feed off of the leftovers of the crab.
Commensalisms
The sea cucumber and the pearl fish
-the sea cucumber: it is an invertebrate that often lives on the ocean floor or on the reef. They respirate out of their anus and defends themselves by expelling their internal organs at a predator, later the organs regrow.
-the pearl fish: It is a small, scale-less fish. that is translucent and similar to eels. By itself, it is quite defenseless
The pearl fish takes advantage of the sea cucumber’s protection by hiding in the cucumber’s anus. The fish will slide backwards into the digestive tract of the sea cucumber in the daytime or when threatened.
Parasitism
Monogenea and southern fiddler ray
The Monogenea attach to the skin and gills of the sting ray. It stays out of sight from predators and feeds off the supply of energy from its host.
